Yes, all our classes are certified by the American Heart Association. We are an AHA Training Site under Virginia Hospital Center and Washington Adventist Hospital Center of Resuscitation Excellence.

Who teaches the classes?

A :

Our instructors are VERY experienced ER and ICU nurses, paramedics, and Doctors who work in the DC metro area. There is a big difference when you learn CPR from someone who has done it HUNDREDS of times.

Where are your classes held?

A :
We now have two main locations in Old Town Alexandria and Tyson's Corner. Alexandria: We hold classes in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. 1800 Diagonal Road, Alexandria VA 22314 Suite 600. We are right across the street from the King St. metro. Theismann's restaurant is on the ground floor of our building. We are on the 6th floor. Tyson's Corner:  We also hold classes at our location in the Kaiser Permanente Tyson's Corner Medical Center.  The address is 8008 Westpark Drive, McLean, VA. Your Location:  We can also come to you and hold any of our classes at your location.

Can you hold classes at my location?

A :
Cancel atleast 5 business days in advance and you will get an immediate full refund. If you cancel within 5 days of your class you can roll your registration over to any of our upcoming classes. However, you cannot have a refund. Our specific refund policy can be found while registering. We understand our classes are not inexpensive and we also know things happens so we ALWAYS work with you to come up with a resolution that is agreeable to both parties.

That's not a very business like refund policy. What does it it mean?

A :

Basically it means we here at The Heart Center are pushovers, and if you tell us a good story you will probably get most, if not all, your money back.

How do I take a class online?

A :
Students have two options for taking all AHA classes.  Online followed by an in-person Skills Check or a traditional classroom course. If you take the class online you will be directed to the AHA website to complete the online class. You will then need to register for the in-person skills check. We always recommend students take the course via a traditional in-person class in order to maximize their learning and experience.

What is the difference between online and In-Person courses?

A :
The cost and time involved to complete either are very similar.  The cost of an traditional classroom course vs and Online class are within a couple dollars of each other and the class length is also the same.  The online classes are not shorter or easier.  You just take part at home.   In our opinion the classroom courses are always the best option to maximize your learning experience.  You will get lots of hands on practice, you get to touch and use all the equipment, you get an experienced instructor and other students to interact with.
